What is a Hedgehog Show?

 

A Hedgehog Show is a show where the Africa Pygmy Hedgehog is put on displayed and judged based on its Coloring, Markings, Age and Gender. Just like a Cat or Dog Show there will be a judge and ribbons given to the "Winning" Hedgehogs" in each of our Classes (Solid, White and Pinto)For those needing more information on the Hedgehog Show Classes check out our page labeled "Show Standards"


 We will also being having what is called a "Kid's Class" where children and their hedgehogs are judged based on how the child holds the hedgehog and the hedgehog's behavior to being held which each child will be given a ribbon for.

Also we will have our "Games" Class where you can see how your hedgehog rates compared to other hedgehogs in the different hedgehog games like Hedgie Bowling, Let's Go Hunting, It's Race Time, just to name a few.

This show is open to the public and with or without a hedgehog everyone is welcome to come and join us.

We will also have a Kids Kraft Korner set up with different hedgehog craft projects, coloring sheets and much more. As well as "Decorate Your Own Hedgehog Cookie (a $.25 charge per cookie applies).

 

Also Gaia Community Kid's Space will be selling refreshments through out the day so make sure to come hungry!!!

 

*Just added we will have a photo booth set up for you to take a picture of you and your hedgehog for $2.00 (or $3.00 if you wish to design a photo frame for it)*

 

 

Hedgehog Owners:

Now for those of you who have an Africa Pygmy Hedgehog and want to enter it into the show *PLEASE REMEMBER TO PUT THE AGE YOUR HEDGEHOG WILL BE ON JUNE 20 2009 AS THE CLASSES ARE SET BY AGE* To enter your hedgehog in the show click on the following link to the  "Pre-Registration" Page which will have all the information you need on how to register your hedgehog. Including information on hotel rooms as we have reserved 15 rooms at the Drury Inn where our hedgehog are most welcome.

*Please contact me if you will be flying in so we can set up Shuttle Service for you as the hotel doesn't offer any.*

*There is a discount on the price of the Classes if you register your hedgehog before May 20th, 2009*
